Block parties, baseball and more to do this weekend in Charlotte

This weekend should have a lower chance of rain, so get out there and enjoy some events! Here’s our curated list of things to do brought to you by the Free Press.

LoSo Block Party is this Saturday bringing out live music, six breweries and plenty of food trucks. This is also a cool event because it’ll be benefiting the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation and Pints for Prostates. You can learn all about it hereIf you are looking for something more family friendly then look to Harvey’s Block Party  in Huntersville or 2nd Friday Street Festival in Cornelious where there will be lots of things to do.

  • While the Charlotte Knights are away in Durham you can still catch some great games in Shelby, NC for the American Legion World Series. Teams from all over the country will go head to head to see who is the best eight different states throughout the country. You can find out more here.
  • McColl Center for the Arts is hosting their member show that starts Saturday and will be displayed until the 27th of August. The show is non-juried, but there is a people’s choice award for whatever artist you may like. It goes from 5-9PM  and you can find out more information here.

2016_FestivalX_FHThe U.S. National Whitewater Center is celebrating 10 years of existence! Festival X will have bike challenges, a cornhole tournament and live music all day. This is a great event if you want to get outside and enjoy the day. More information here.
