Canadian immigration website can’t handle all the Americans who weren’t kidding

So, you want to move to Canada?

You may have to wait until the Canadian immigration website is fully functional again.

Americans crashed the site after seeing Donald Trump was favored to win the presidential election late Tuesday night. The website was still on the fritz throughout Wednesday morning.

What started out as a joke and then recently as an ad campaign for some realtors turned into Americans legitimately thinking about ways out Tuesday night.

People Googled “Canada immigration” over a million times Tuesday, making it the ninth most popular search that day. It trailed only searches such as “When will the president be announced” and “Poll results.”
