Kawann Short is sticking with the Panthers for the next five years, signing an $80 million deal Monday, according to ESPN. The explosive defensive tackle got his start with the Carolina Panthers in 2013 as a second-round draft pick. Over the past two years, Short became known in the NFL after a combined 17 sacks.
Short is lining up next to a Panthers legend this season with the return of Julius Peppers. Peppers is returning to where he got his start for the 2017 season. The defensive end averaged just over 10 sacks per season when he was with the Panthers. Between Short, Peppers and Luke Kuechly, the Carolina defense is stacking up.
