Your guide to Charlotte’s 2017 Speed Street

Speed Street is here with all the usual stops such as music, a 5K run and lots of racing-related vendors (and food too, of course). Tickets are $10 for Thursday night entertainment and $15 on Friday and Saturday night to watch the headlining acts. Hanging out is free.

Here are some events you won’t want to miss each day:


May 25
Coca-Cola Stage
Romare Bearden Park

7:30 p.m. Speed Street 5K starts

9:30-10:30 p.m. The Magnificent DJ Jazzy Jeff (If you don’t remember this guy, this should jog your memory)

Mello Yello Stage
Tryon Street at Stonewall Street

This stage opens at noon and starts music at 1:30 p.m. with Caroline Allen, Shelby Lee Lowe, Lakeside and Mr. Nigel & Friends.


May 26

Coca-Cola Stage

Romare Bearden Park

VIP opens at 5:30 p.m. and gates open for everyone else at 6 p.m. The USAF Full Spectrum band will perform, along with Billy Currington and Granger Smith feat. Earl Dibbles Jr.

Mello Yello Stage

Tryon Street at Stonewall Street

The stage opens at noon with Motor Mouth Mike and includes Stephen Neal and Caroline Dare.


May 27
Coca-Cola Stage
Romare Bearden Park

Levon, The Cadillac Three and Jake Owen will be performing starting at 6 p.m. There will also be a car giveaway, along with a Q&A with Joey Logano and Daniel Suarez.

Mello Yello Stage
Tryon Street at Stonewall Street

Starting at noon, Sloane Letourneau (He’s 12… Wait, is that right?? He rocks anyway.) takes the main stage, followed by Mr. Nigel & Friends for a great stage for family fun. Hot dog eating contest starts at 4 p.m.


Bonus: Fit By Benns is partnering with Sycamore Brewing to bring you Boot Camp and Brews. The boot camp starts Sunday, May 28, 11 AM12 PM. Check it out here.
